A lesson in a glider is a fantastic way to experience to unique thrill of silent soaring! If you want to have a go at gliding, this £90 voucher from Into the Blue gets you a single aerotow launch with a flight lasting up to 20 minutes.
Taking place at the Glider Club at St Guthrac’s Lodge near Peterborough, this lesson includes a full pre-flight briefing, as well as the chance to help with the preparations for the flight. Along with your personla instructor, you’ll do a walkaround of the aircraft, performing all safety checks. When the time comes for you to climb aboard and fasten your seatbelt, the team will attach a towline to the belly of the glider.
When the order is given to take off, a strong tug plane will start its engines, pulling you upwards to a height of around 2000 ft. Once there, your instructor will release the towline, letting you soar free through the skies!
