There’s a flying craze that’s taking the aviation world by storm. Microlights have been around since the 1970s, but in the recent decades the sport has really taken off and is now the fastest-growing and most affordable trend in recreational flying. There are two basic types of ultralight flying machines: fixed-wings (or 3-axis) are like tiny little super-cute planes, while flex-wings resemble hang-gliders with stonking great engines attached. Whichever you choose, a flying lesson in a microlight is about as close as you can get to being a bird without sprouting feathers and pooing on public monuments.
